Prof. Saha's Seminar at LSSE

It was our great pleasure to have Prof. S.K. Saha from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, as the guest speaker for our 2nd LSSE seminar. Note that Kyutech and IITD have the institutional-level MOU, and also that he has been my good friend.

The talk title is "R^2: Robotics to Rural."

He started his talk not only on introduction of his robotics research and education, but also on phylosophy in particular for education.

He talked about his two special interests : 1) innovative research by converting rural problems into research topics, which he pursues through a lecture series called MuDRA or Multibody Dynamics for Rural Applications and his book on Multibody Systems; 2) an innovative teaching methodology, which is pursues through another lecture series called RoCK-BEE or Robotic Competition Based Education in Engineering.

He then mentioned aha social problem in India, poverty, and introduced his robotics approach to rural.

I expect Kyutech and IITD will collaborate in many respects. One obvious and important collaboration of LSSE with IITD will be through the Global Advanced Assistive Robotics Course supported by Japanese governmental scholarship for foreign students.
